Designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, these elegant cane chairs were produced by Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte in the 1950s.
While Hauner and Eisler are best known for their sculptural iron-framed armchairs, their production under Forma extended far beyond, encompassing a sophisticated range of wooden furniture that exemplified mid-century Brazilian modernism. Each piece was meticulously designed and executed with architectural precision
This model features a solid Rosewood structure with cane weaving on the seat and backrest. The seat, slightly concave, creates a distinctive cutout between the seat and the front legs, a subtle yet striking design gesture. The combination of clean geometry, noble materials, and balanced proportions results in a timeless piece of exceptional quality.
