DISCOVER BRAZILIAN DESIGN
Our collection aims to reunite Brazilian design production around thematics, reflections, and ideas. Composed of mid-century designers as Joaquim Tenreiro, Lina Bo Bardi, Carlo Hauner, Martin Eisler, Sergio Rodrigues, and contemporary designers such as Alva Design, Andrea Macruz, Bruno Jahara, Estudio Rain, Lucas Recchia, Rodrigo Silveira and other names. Far beyond high-quality objects and design thought, our goal is to present essential objects that tell us about history, society, and ourselves. We learned from the Bauhaus that design is an open field, and we work it on that way by articles, videos, photographs, and exhibitions. -

CARLO HAUNER, MARTIN EISLER AND THE MODERNIZATION OF FURNITURE IN BRAZIL
1 - 31 August 2019Brazil underwent profound social and economic changes in the middle of the twentieth century, resulting in the growth and verticalization of its urban centers. Contingents of immigrants, many of whom came to the country after World War II to start a new life, went to these cities, and there was a general sense of optimism. In the architecture and design fields, the development of a modern vocabulary and an industry capable of producing new materials provided the tools to respond to the challenges of furnishing a new type of dwelling and catering to a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
