Designed in 1963 by Sergio Rodrigues and produced by his iconic company Oca, the Magrini Stool embodies the warmth and ingenuity of Brazilian modern design. Crafted from solid rosewood with beautifully turned feet, this versatile piece can serve as both a seat and a support. Its form follows the same creative principles as the Mocho Stool — Rodrigues’s first design for Oca — combining functionality, comfort, and a distinctly informal elegance.
Reflecting Sergio Rodrigues’s playful spirit, the stool was named after his friend Franco Magrini, an Italian production engineer who collaborated with him at the celebrated restaurant Papo de Anjo after Rodrigues’s departure from Oca in 1968. With its sculptural simplicity and timeless character, the Magrini Stool remains a quintessential expression of Rodrigues’s design philosophy — pieces made to be lived with, moved, and enjoyed every day.
