The wood pieces produced by Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte during the 1950s and 1960s in Brazil are incredibly well-designed and executed. This round side table made of Caviuna is a beautiful combination of simplistic design and excellent materials.
Despite its simple forms, how the three feet fit together, forming the support base for the tabletop, is very charming and clever. Placing a side table beside a sofa or bed helps ensure that essential items are within easy reach and are also a perfect opportunity to display objects you like – a meeting between functionality and beauty.
In 1955, the pioneer company Móveis Artesanal, founded by Carlo Hauner in 1950 (who later partnered with Martin Eisler and Ernesto Wolf), changed the name to Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte. The purpose was to make the company more attractive to the business market, which was rapidly developing. Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Art manufactured a few icons of Brazilian design history, as the Costela Armchair designed by Eisler and the iconic chair that illustrates Móveis Artesanal's logotype designed by Hauner.
This side table is in very good vintage condition. Wood restoration by our workshop is included.
