This bookshelf, designed by Joaquim Tenreiro in the 1950s, is a gem. The piece was recently restored within its historical original characteristics. Made entirely from Solid Rosewood and Rosewood Veneers, one of Brazil's most enchanted native woods and of great importance when understanding Brazilian furniture design throughout the decades.
Joaquim Tenreiro (1906–1992), a master of Brazilian modernism, explored the full technical and aesthetic potential of native woods, combining ergonomics, lightness, and artisanal craftsmanship. Originally produced in limited numbers for a discerning cultural elite, his work is now internationally celebrated as an icon of sophisticated modern tropical design. This chaise longue is a rare and exemplary testament to his visionary approach.
