Produced by Móveis Lafer and designed by Percival Lafer, the MP 91 lounge chair dates to 1972 and is presented here as a pair. The frames are constructed in solid cedar, finished in a dark tone. A manufacturer's stamp is present on the frame. The wood has been professionally restored, while the leather upholstery retains its original covering.
Percival Lafer (b. 1936) studied architecture at Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo before joining Móveis Lafer, the family furniture company. His work addressed mass production, ergonomy, and accessibility for the middle-class market, incorporating demountable and modular construction.
