Rare set of fourteen Brazilian chairs manufactured in the 1950s. The chairs comprise an iron structure with new upholstery in fabric 100% Organic Silk from our Bossa Fabrics collection.
One of the pioneer companies to produce Modern Design in Brazil were Tenreiro Moveis e Decoraçoes and Móveis Artesanal (Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler). Both companies used to stamp covers of the most significant Architecture and Design publications; it was the right choice for the best architects and interior designers.
Their designs inspired many other small manufacturers with their vanguard production. We consider this chair a free inspiration based on the iconic chair designed by Martin Eisler that illustrates the logotype of the company Móveis Artesanal.
Larger sets of dining chairs formed during the Mid-century are rarities. These pieces came from a family in São Paulo, with archival photos – an excellent provenance.
